What Are Wearable Ambulatory Monitoring Devices?

These are non-invasive electronic devices worn by a patient to continuously track physiological data outside of a traditional clinical setting. Unlike older, bulky equipment, modern wearable devices are lightweight, discreet, and highly accurate.

In the Italian market, the devices typically include:

  • Continuous Glucose Monitors (CGMs): Essential for diabetes management.

  • Heart Rate and ECG Monitors: Including patches and smart garments for tracking cardiac activity and detecting arrhythmias.

  • Activity and Sleep Trackers: Used for general wellness but increasingly integrated into clinical trials and post-operative care.
